Slow Learner

Tuesday the mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin, finally authorized the forced evacuation of remaining citizens from the waterlogged city. This was the course of action that the President urged both the mayor and the governor of Louisiana before Katrina hit.

Better late than never, I guess. If they hurry, maybe they can get the people out before they get the water out.

Tomcat,

Big disasters are to easy to do these days with so many people as targets now in America.

http://www.september11victims.com/september11victims/victims_list.htm

Click on the links on this page, look at the faces, read the tributes.

Our enemies did not hesitate to do this to these people. And if they can do so with a nuclear weapon next time, the list of faces will be many, many, many times longer.

They would rather a few fanatics do the BIG ONE, than people from their own country.

We need to stop Iran and N. Korea by any means necessary.

dcat,

What I was addressing was the concept of leadership handling potentialy catastrophic issues that Tom Cat was refering to when he said that the declaration should have been handled sooner.

I found that the comment I just posted at your blog also fit here because the list of lost lives could have been shorter not only for Katrina but also for 9/11.

Mayor Nagin just now requiring mandatory evacuation was too late, just as the proper approach to the information regarding Abel Danger was too late.

There will be a list of names of people associated with Katrina, just as there this one with 9/11.

Leaders MUST ALWAYS take signs or the gathering clouds of danger on the horizon seriously.

Ok RG,

Thanks for the update on Bob and the gangs there now.

The list will go on and on. We should only learn from this from now on. I hope!
